so serena, chris, ty, and i went out on a dingy and got a grand tour of the island. chris is a 5th generation islander and know HEAPS about the hidden spots and random bush facts...he was our tour guide...and an excellent one might i add. so yeah, here i am driving the dingy!!!! a karin first!

i got into Auckland May 22nd and went straight over to bex and erics new pad. its a lovely lil home right near both the schools they are teaching at. we were able to hang out and cook dnners (just as we had done 4 years back in belgium!) my friend chris and i were able to catch up as well....chris was my FIRST travel buddy. we met up in Bayles Beach and traveled to the east cape and back...anywho he moved back to NZ from London...see guys, im not the only one who cant resist the temptaions of NZ :)
after catching up i stopped through mount maunganui on my way to visit rhona in rotarua. i caught up with my friend mike and woke up at the crak of dawn for a fishing adventure! yes, i did catch some fish, but sadly both under size :( so back in the water they went.
in rotarua rhona and i had some great long dinners out, took a couple of nice walks. Its great meeting up with rhona...like we never left. the first 5 hours is just us rambling and filling eachother in on every lil detail of our lives since we last we together....and from then on out..well lots of laughter!

sooooo, yes i stopped my blog after NZ but i decided to keep her going now that i am back in NZ. do in december i cam back for my brothers wedding. Now this wedding may be my favorite ive been to so far! it was in st louis on new years eve and loads of family came in! it was a blast.
from there things quieted down and i started working at a martini bar and a coffee shop while living at home. it was great being so close to my brother and sister and of course their families. i spent some quality time with my niece and nephew...they get cuter and smarter everyday :)
from there i went to LA for 3 weeks to catch up with friends and to be there for myles' birth! kev and shan had lil myles may 12th and he is a stunning boy.
so yep that is a very brief catch up on my past 6 months. now i am back on stewart island, getting back into the swing of things.
